History

In 1968, Lučební závody a.s. Kolín began to cooperate with this Institute on construction of pilot production unit for direct pressure synthesis of toluene SDMA solution with the brand name Synhydrid®. Industrial scale production of Synhydrid® was begun in Kolin plant in 1971. At this early beginning the quantity of produced Synhydrid® reached values between 20-30 MT per year. At the end of millennium the annual produced quantity of Synhydrid® already touched 200 MT.

Due to continuously quickly increasing demand in the beginning of this millennium the new, modern, bigger and safer production unit for Synhydrid® with nameplate capacity 1200 MT/year was built. Production in this new facility was started in 2006. This capacity increase enabled to spread Synhydrid® to other areas of chemical industry. But only ten years later this increased Synhydrid® capacity did not suffice to the still growing customers demand. In reaction to this, in 2017, Lučební závody opened another Synhydrid® production unit with nameplate capacity 400 MT/year. And it does not end there. Understanding the need for stable supply line of high quality product, Lučební závody, by 2025, will increase their Synhydrid® production capacity up to 2500 MT/year.
