Handling, packaging and storage

Easy handling is one of Synhydrid® biggest advantages compared to other reducing agents based on complex aluminum hydrides. Synhydrid® can be easily pumped directly from the package into the desired reactor, even at its high concentration of the active ingredient 70 % wt. Of course, during handling with Synhydrid®, strict inertness of the environment with which Synhydrid® is in contact has to be ensured with dry inert gas (nitrogen, argon).

Synhydrid® is a reactive substance. This is self-evident, otherwise our customers would not buy it. Therefore, all safety rules have to be observed during working with it. But in comparison with lithium aluminium hydride Synhydrid® is significantly less dangerous.

Synhydrid® is supplied in 200, 50, 25 and 15 kg steel drums with thread closures. Synhydrid® is classified by ADR regulation (transportation of dangerous goods by road) in class 4.3 (substances which in contact with water emit flammable gases) under UN number 3399 - organometallic substance, liquid, water-reactive, flammable, n.o.s. in packing group I.

All used packages fulfill criteria for ADR corresponding packing instruction P402.

Synhydrid® is also supplied in 1000 kg returnable safety containers (ADR portable tanks). 1000 kg returnable safety containers are the best possibility how to save environment because in this case no waste is formed during transportation and handling of Synhydrid®.

They are also comfortable solution for users of Synhydrid® because these users have no worries with empty packaging disposal.

For testing and laboratory purposes we supply 200 g Synhydrid® samples packed in 200 ml glass bottles covered with plastic bag and put into 1 L steel can filled with inert sorbent.

As outer packaging the ADR certified fiberboard box is used for this set.

For storage of Synhydrid® standard facility for storing of flammable liquids can be used. The storage area should be covered and dry. Guaranteed shelf life of Synhydrid® is 24 months in original unopened packaging.

Synhydrid® is stable substance and the only factor influencing its stability is quality of the barrier against air humidity – packaging. We use top quality drums and modern portable tanks which are regularly inspected. We are continuously testing and monitoring packaging airtightness.
